Directing Work
Sarah's newly realized, yet impressively nuanced directing style emphasizes one thing above all else: genuine honesty and connection, no matter the circumstances. This was apparent in her most recent undertaking at the Dobbins Conservatory: YEAST NATION, a prehistoric, musical tale of love, loss, greed, and yeast. With her actors and collaborators, she worked to craft a story that was surprisingly relatable to audiences, despite the incredibly unique setting at the bottom of the ocean, before the dawn of all other life. At its core, this story was one of people (or, yeast in this case) finding themselves for the first time and using that to evolve past their previously insurmountable difficulties.
